I'm currently going to school for visual effects (special effects in movies, post-production, that whole thing) and it's been getting me thinking about copyright laws and how I don't want to deal with them. Because of this, I've started trying to compose my own songs for scenes that I want in my movies (right now I'm using garageband). I think my biggest difficulty at the moment is good, old-fashioned lack of experience. I've never taken any sort of music theory, and only took piano lessons when I was younger. Besides that, everything I know about music is what I've learned through trial and error. This is a song that I've been working on for an action scene. Feel free to comment/complain/make suggestions.

I hate it when I ask people what type of music they listen to and they respond with "Oh, I like anything." First off, I doubt that. I mean.. I can tolerate pretty much anything that I hear, but there are still a choice few that manage to piss me off everytime I hear them (ashlee simpson, nickelback, etc). Even If the person DID like anything.. I assume there's still music that they listen to more than others. Did you know that there are people out there that don't listen to music all that often? Everytime I sit down at the computer, itunes is the first thing that I open. I can't imagine sitting in my room in silence.
